Sculptures, Cool Collages, and Canal Houses

Here is the beginning stages of the mural that was started at the Empty Bowls dinner.  Did you create a house for our village?  Can you find yours?

2nd grade: Students have been working on sea creatures.  They sculpted crabs (and a few fish) out of clay.  Here are the results:

Kindergarten: These students created clay pieces right before Winter Break.  They recently glazed the pieces, which are filled with a variety of textures and the first letter of their names.

Kindergarteners have also been learning about the difference between warm and cool colors.  Here are some of their cool colored collages:

3rd graders created Dutch Canal Houses inspired by the ones in Amsterdam.  This lesson was connected to our study on VanGogh, who is from The Netherlands, and The VanGogh Museum is in Amsterdam as well.
