The 4th graders recently took a study trip to V.U. We visited the library, the music department, the art museum, and the chapel. This was a wonderfully interactive trip where students were able to learn about both music and art. Here are some pictures from that day:

Here is what we've been up to in February in art class:
5th grade is finishing up their coil pots and painting them with metallic colors. Mrs. Klein's class added some hearts and made them into festive Valentine's Day decorations.
1st grade read the book, Boy and Bot, and created robots with aluminum and paper scraps.

4th graders have begun learning about China. We learned about the terra-cotta warriors and drew and painted some in our own style:

1st graders are learning the difference between warm and cool colors. They looked at artwork by George Rodrigue and Laurel Burch. Then they created their own "cool cats" or "hot dogs" using warm or cool colors.
Kindergarteners are also learning about warm and cool colors. Here are their cool colored landscapes.
